Norma M. (Galletta) Pesich

Norma Galletta Pesich, 92, of Hopewell, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon, PA. Born in Aliquippa on March 8, 1930, Norma was the daughter of the late Domenick and Carmella Santini Galletta, Norma was a life-long member of Mary Queen of Saints Parish, St. Titus Roman Catholic Church, where she was baptized on August 2, 1931. Norma married Paul Pesich at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, West Aliquippa on May 22, 1954 and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Paul; sisters Frances Pesich and Mary Carr; brothers Joseph Galletta, Tony Galletta and Vincent Galletta; sisters-in-law Leona Galletta, Martha Galletta, Marie Galletta, Dorothy Kovacic, Helen Rosenberger, Mildred Pesich, Mary Vidonic, Gertie Pesich and Mitzi Pesich; brothers-in-law Peter Pesich, Edward Carr, Adam Pesich, Mato Kovacic, Rudolph Rosenberger, George Vidonic, John Pesich and Nick Pesich; and nieces Sharon Pesich and Denise Sudak. Norma is survived by a son Frank (Chris) and a daughter Karen (Dan), granddaughters Heather Crawford (Aaron) and Victoria Wuycheck (Evan), and great grandchildren Ayden Fleming and Ava Crawford, and dear cousin Helen Galletta. Norma is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends, and her loving and dedicated caregivers (girlfriends) Cathie Griffith, Eileen Abbott, Carletta Thomas, Peggy Nolan, Kim Rohrbach, and Valeria Stumpf. Friends will be received on Friday, January 13 from 4 to 7 PM in the ANTHONY MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME, 21st and McMinn Streets, Aliquippa. A blessing service will be conducted on Saturday, January 14 at 9:30 AM in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 AM at St. Titus Catholic Church, Aliquippa. Entombment will follow in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, Hopewell Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Norma. Norma’s family extends their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at St. Clair Hospital’s Intermediate Care and 5G units and Gallagher’s Hospice Services for the exemplary and compassionate care that she received in the last several weeks of her life. They also thank Right at Home for providing many years of quality home care to their Mother and Grandmother. Norma had a great sense of humor and leaves us with many wonderful memories, along with her treasured recipes for Christmas Eve cheese balls, sauce, and homemade bread. (It isn’t just the recipe it is also about technique).
