Lubi Kuga

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Lubi Kuga on September 12, 2024. She was born on June 25, 1929, to the late Milan and Millie (Perich) Jerich. Lubi is survived by her three children. Linda Kuga Pikulin, Curtis (Maggie) Kuga, and April Kuga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Kuga, and daughter, Donna Kuga. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Samuel and Daniel Jerich and her loving sister Sarah Jerich. Our mom was a life-long resident of Beaver County. She became a widow in 1974 at the age of 45 years old. Our mom never remarried as she dedicated every moment of her life to raising her children. She ensured that each of us were well educated, independent, and confident so that we could build a better life for ourselves than the one she had lived for over nine decades. Over the years, we had a front row seat watching her embrace the triumphs and tragedies in life. Her greatest joy was the pride that she felt in her heart for each of us while facing unspeakable tragedy in the untimely loss of our father and sister. Any child of any generation could only hope to have a mother, like ours, dedicated to the well-being of her children. Our mom had immeasurable strength to endure any challenge that she faced throughout her life. During the past few months, as she began to slip away, we held her in our arms with the deepest level of respect, love and gratitude that she earned over a lifetime of unparalleled love and support. This has been her legacy...her children. She was resilient, fearless and grateful for the life that she lived. Our family would like to thank Dr. Matthew Coombs for the many years of exceptional and compassionate care he provided for our mother. In addition, we would also like to thank our care-giving staff that worked 24 hours a day to ensure that our mother received the best possible care at home. Thank you, Marie, Caroline and Megan (Homemaker), and Jennifer and Holly (Home Instead). As our mother then transitioned into Three Oaks Hospice Care, we are deeply grateful to Jen (hospice nurse) and Rose (hospice aid) for keeping our mother comfortable and supporting us through the last few weeks of her life. We will never forget and will be eternally grateful to all of you for the professional services and personal commitment each of you made to the greatest treasure in our lives...our mother.
