Catherine "Punkin" Warzynski

Catherine "Punkin" Warzynski, 93 of Center Twp. passed away peacefully December 17, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.She was born September 12, 1923 in Logstown (Aliquippa) and was the daughter of the late Stephan and Agnes (Gruber) Sremich. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Stanley Warzynski, a daughter: Patricia Stone, her sister: Mary Sremich and two brothers: Matt and Stephan Sremich.Mrs. Warzynski was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was a dedicated, loving mother to her children and grandchildren. Punkin enjoyed watching the birds and admiring the beautiful flowers that were around her. In her earlier years she also spent time baking special treats for her family to enjoy.Mrs. Warzynski is survived by her devoted children: Paul and Alberta Warzynski, George and Joanne Warzynski, Rose and Dr. Patrick Sturm, and a son-in-law: Noble Stone. She was blessed with nine grandchildren: Diana, Paul (Heather), Richelle (Eric), Jeffrey, Kristen, Andrea, Erika (Rossi) Stephanie (Mathias) Melissa (Steve), several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa 15001-724-375-0496. Departing prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Frances Cabrini Church with Father Martin Bartel, O.S.B. officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Warzynski family would like to extend their appreciation to Vitas Hospice, especially the ladies who Punkin referred to as ?Her Sunshine? Kelli, Rose, Marcia and Shannon, who lovingly took care of our precious mom. We thank you! Punkin loved flowers and received many beautiful arrangements during her life. Her request was to have donations made to St. Frances Cabrini Food Bank to help others in lieu of sending flowers.We were blessed to have our wonderful mother in our lives for so long. Being the wise woman she was, we were always reminded??Nothing lasts forever?. Our mom was right. However, the love and memories that we each shared with her will remain in our hearts forever.A parish vigil service will be held at 2:45 p.m. in the funeral home.
