Saverio 'Sam' AntonucciAliquippaSaverio "Sam" Antonucci, 82, of Aliquippa, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on Thursday, December 15, 2016. He was born February 21, 1934, in Frosinone, Italy. He was the son of the late Nicola and Maria Antonucci. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Antonucci; three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Vincenzo Chiappini, Frank Fratan-geli, and Mario and Giula Fratangeli. Mr. Antonucci was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Hopewell Twp. He worked at the former J&L Steel as a pipe fitter. Mr. Antonucci enjoyed working on cars. He was very knowledgeable and could fix almost any vehicle. His was also talented in home building and brick work. Mr. Antonucci is survived by his wife, Filomena (Fratangeli) Antonucci; a son and daughter-in-law, Marco and Antonella Antonucci, Center Twp., two granddaughters, Chiara and Ashley; a sister, Teresa Chiappini; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Giacomo and Michel-ina Antonucci and Carlo and Pasqualina Antonuc-ci; eight brothers-in-laws and nine sisters-in-law, Domenic and Felicetta Fratangeli, Umberto and Rina Fratangeli, Augusto and Margherita Fratan-geli, Remo and Maria Fratangeli, John and Vickey Fratangeli, Philip and Sue Fratangeli, Anthony and Anna Fratangeli. and Antoinette Fratangeli and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the ANTHONY MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME INC., 21st and McMinn Streets, Aliquippa, 724-375-0496. Departing prayers will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Howard Campbell officiating. Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
