Richard J. Kraus, Sr., 74, of Center Twp., passed away holding the hand of his beloved wife on September 26, 2015. He was born January 13, 1941, in Hopewell Twp., and was the son of the late Joseph and Clara (Leis) Kraus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard J. Kraus, Jr.; two infant daughters, Marcy and Michelle and three nephews, William Varela, Regis Paxton, and Christian Tack.Rich was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church. He honorably served our country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. Rich was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He held in esteem the position of fourth degree color core. Rich was employed with Pen Dot having retired as foreman.Surviving Rich is his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Betty (Pietrandrea) Kraus; two brothers and a sister-in-law, William and Regina Kraus, Freedom, PA and John Kraus, Hopewell Twp. and a sister, Marian "Joyce" Kraus also of Hopewell Twp. Rich is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends.Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the ANTHONY MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, 724-375-0496. Departing prayers will begin Wednesday morning at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Frances Cabrini Church with Father William J. Schwartz officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.The Beaver County Special Unit will provide full military honors for Rich at the cemetery.
