Raymond Lackovich, 85, of Aliquippa, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 after a brief illness. Born July 3, 1931, in Aliquippa, he was the son of the late Mile and Julia (Sklack) Lackovich. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete and Nick Lackovich, and three sisters, Anne Paich, Irene Isbell and Sophie Lackovich. Ray was a member of St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church, the American Serbian Club and the Serb National Federation. He served in the US Army stationed in Germany and France. Ray retired from Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation and Parkway Concrete and Supply.Surviving Ray is his devoted wife of 60 years, Martha (Nale) Lackovich, a son: Keith (Teresa) Lackovich, two daughters: Kristine Lackovich and Ronald Halstead, Lisa (Michael) Hughes, five grandchildren: Dr. Ashley (Dirk) Lackovich-Van Gorp, Jared (Stephanie) Lackovich, Nikki Rae Halstead, Jonathan and Jessica Hughes, three great-grandchildren: Lidija, Darija, and Nolan. He is also survived by his cherished sister, Amelia Enders. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends that loved him deeply. Family and friends will be received Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. In the Anthony Mastrofranceso Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, 724-375-0496. Pomen will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by an additional service at 10:00 a.m. in St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church with Very Re. Fr. Branislav Golic. Interment will follow at St. Elijah Cemetery.The Beaver County Special Unit will provide military honors at the cemetery at 10:45.Ray treasured his family and friends. He is gone from this world, but in our hearts forever.
