Patricia Lynn Yannessa Bates

Patricia Lynn Yannessa-Bates, 64 of Hopewell Twp. passed away peacefully March 10, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.She was born March 21, 1951 in Rochester, PA. and was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Jennie (Taddeo) Yannessa. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Yannessa.Patty was a member of Saint Titus Roman Catholic Church where she worked in the office and served as a Eucharistic Minister for Mass. For many years, until her retirement, Patty worked at Hopewell Twp. Municipal Building as the Township Manager. She was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed watching them on television or attending a game.She is survived by her husband: John Matthew Bates. Her two sons, who were the light of her life: Joseph Anthony Barnabi, N.C. and Matthew Bates, Hopewell Twp. Three devoted sisters: Loretta (David) Glomb, Wexford, Constance (Darrell) Rossi, S.C., Mary (Dave) Clough, Moon Twp. Patty is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 12 NOON UNTIL 2:00 p.m. and will resume again from 4-8 p.m. in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, 15001 724-375-0496.Departing prayers will begin at 9:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Titus Church with Fr. Paul Householder. Patty will be buried at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers donations may be made if desired to the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY 32 Belmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 in memory of Patty.
