Joseph J. Beca Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joseph J. Beca, Jr. 84 of Center Township, passed away peacefully with his family by his side May 1, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospice. He was born June 24, 1932 in West Aliquippa and was the son of the late Joseph J. and Stella Beca, Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janice (Charles) Beca, a sister and two brothers-in-law: Betty and Edward Lech, Serafin Berbel and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Karen and Joe Barness. Joe was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, Center Twp. He was retired from J&L Steelworks as a Crane Operator with 35 years of service. Joe was also employed at Allegheny Country Club as a groundskeeper for 10 years. He was proud to be a lifelong member of Center Township Volunteer Fire Department and throughout the years developed many wonderful friendships. Joe was an avid bingo player, he also relished in a good poker game and spending time at the casinos. Surviving Joe are his devoted daughters: Marcie and Anthony Altieri, Hopewell Twp., Melissa and Robert Poteste, North Huntingdon. Two cherished granddaughters: Kayla and Brandon Williams, Phoenix, AZ, Alaina Altieri and Jesse Klesser, Hopewell Twp. A sister: Dorothy Berbel, numerous nieces and two nephews. Joe is also survived by two very special neighbors, Lynda McCutcheon and Loretta Lytle, who always looked after Joe and kept him well fed. A close friend, Jeff Amadio and Joe’s companion, Rose Weyland. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, Center Twp. with Father Martin Bartel, O.S.B. officiating. Joe will be buried with his wife at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Center Township Volunteer Department will perform a fireman's memorial service in the church after Mass is concluded. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made if desired to Good Samaritan Hospice Beaver c/o Hertiage Valley Hospital Beaver.
