Johanna A. M. (Brnjas) Conkle,76, of New Brighton passed away November 21, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.She was born June 12, 1939 in Aliquippa and was the daughter of the late John and Matilda “Tillie” Brnjas. Sr. Johanna was reunited with her one true love, her husband, Frank L. Conkle, who preceded her in death 38 years ago. She was also preceded in death by a brother John Brnjas, Jr.Johanna was a graduate of Mt. Galiztan High School. She was a member of Saint Titus Roman Catholic Church, Aliquippa. Johanna was a 58 year member of the Croation Fraternal Union. She enjoyed spending time at the Circle of Friends in New Brighton and delighted in going to the casino.Johanna is survived by her loving children and grandchildren who brought her so much joy: Francis and Patricia Conkle and Philanyna “Yanna” Conkle all of Aliquippa. Grandchildren: Arijana, Lindsay, Samantha, Elijah and Aidan. She is also survived by a niece: Johanna Ivich and two nephews Vincent Brnjas, and John Brnjas III and her cherished feline friend: Liz.Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. in the ANTHONY MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME INC. 2026 MCMINN Street, Aliquippa (724)375-0496. A Blessing service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Father Paul Householder. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Center Twp. In lieu of flowers donations may be to the funeral home to assist the family.
