Jean Rita (Laurenzi) Vickodil, 77, of Center Township, went to rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord on February 3, 2022. She was born in Aliquippa, November 20, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Giacinto and Rita (Pelino) Laurenzi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in in death by her husband, William J. Vickodil, Sr, in 2008, after 45 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by six brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Francis Vickodil Sr, Joseph and Rosalia Mansuetti, Rosabel and Robert C. Vickodil Sr, Nancy E. Vickodil, Michael A. Lucci Sr, Donald McNeill, and Clifford Rubottom. Jean was a member of Mary Queen of Saints Parish, St. Frances Cabrini Church, and a past member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and the Ladies Auxiliary of Monaca Turners. She served her community as a prior election poll worker in Center Twp, a homeroom mother, and a Girl Scout Leader. Most people will remember Jean as a talented baker of wedding and all occasion cakes. She loved to make special celebrations more beautiful with her delicious creations. As her family, we will remember her as a loving mother and grandmother. We are blessed to have many beautiful memories of her throughout life. Whether it was camping and fishing at Pymatuning, having a fun time with her Bunco Ladies, playing the slot machines in Vegas, or hosting all of us for holiday meals, she always had a smile on her face and loved time spent with family. She is survived by two devoted children, Jean R. Hulligan of Leesburg, VA, and William J. Vickodil and his fiancé, Jennifer Quinn, of Linesville, PA. Jean cherished her two grandchildren, Kevan M. Hulligan and Kyra M. Hulligan, whom she was very proud of and loved dearly. She never let moment go by that she didn’t surprise them with a special gift or a card in the mail. Jean is also survived by two very devoted and loving sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marie Rubottom, Carolina and James Ursitti, and Edward Vickodil Sr, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and godchildren. We would like to extend a special thank you to Jean’s neighbor, John Girata and her nephew and his wife, Dennis and Denise McNeill, who helped to keep her lawn well maintained and were there to help her graciously with anything she needed at home. We also thank her thoughtful and kind caretakers at Cambridge Village Memory Care Unit, Hospice Services, and those at the Villa of St. Joseph. It was Jean’s wish to have no visitation, but we will celebrate her life at a Mass of Christian burial at St. Frances Cabrini Church on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association https://act.alz.org/site/Donation All funeral arrangements handled by the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, PA 15001.
