Helen (Harvan) Matascik, 97 of Cannonsburg formerly of West Aliquippa passed away January 5, 2017She was born in Glenwillard, PA on February 10, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Stoffa) Harvan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Francis Michael Matascik, a daughter Mary June Matascik, three brothers: Stephen, Albert and Arthur Harvan, a sister Josephine Klacik and a son-in-law: David Michael Bazzoli, Sr.Mrs. Matascik was a member of St. Titus Roman Catholic Church, Aliquippa.Prior to her retirement she was employed by G.C. Murphy Co. for many years. Mrs. Matascik loved spending time with her family, going to the casino and she enjoyed playing bingo.She is survived by her loving family: daughter, Eileen Bazzoli, Cannonsburg, a son and daughter-in-law, John and Deborah Matascik, Center Twp. Five Cherished grandchildren: David Bazzoli, Jr., Kristen (Rob) Spellman, Gregory Bazzoli, Danielle Matascik, and John (Annie) Matascik. Three great grandchildren: James and Alyssa Spellman and Alice Matascik.Friends will be received on Saturday from 8:30 am until time of departing prayers at 9:30 a.m. in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa 15061 724-375-0496. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. Titus Church with Father Michael R. Ruffalo. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Helen.
