Gilda "Jitterz" (Piroli) Neubauer

December 6, 1926 - September 23, 2016

Gilda "Jitterz" (Piroli) Neubauer, 96 of Hopewell Twp. passed away after a brief illness on September 23, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was born December 6, 1919 in Aliquippa and was the daughter of the late Mariano and Alesandrina Piroli. Gilda was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Edward Neubauer, two brothers: Donald "Dundo" Piroli, Lawrence "Larry" Piroli, two sisters: Geneva Marshall and Mary Nichilo.She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.Gilda was an avid reader. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to a card club for over 50 years.She loved watching the Pirates and Steelers and was a fierce fan. Gilda was such a faithful fan that she adventured into town to attend a game even though she did not have tickets but she knew there was a deal out there somewhere for her to see her favorite teams play! One of Gilda's accomplishments was traveling to California where her lifelong best friend, Ann Seech, lived so they could celebrate their 95th birthday together.Above all, her love for her family was paramount. She would delight in making homemade gnocchi and other delicious dinners for them to enjoy. Gilda always had homemade pizzelles available just in case anyone would like some. She was truly the cornerstone of her family.Gilda is survived by her loving children: Edward and Julia Neubauer, Gary and Linda Neubauer, and Judy and Joe Landolina. Four special grandchildren: Jennifer, Christopher, Dominic and Kiana. She is also survived by a brother, Nick Piroli and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home, Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa. Departing prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. with Father Howard Campbell officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.In lieu of flowers donations may be made if desired to Our Lady of Fatima Building Fund in memory of Gilda.
