Edward J. PaPa Kalinowski

September 20, 1926 - December 1, 2018

Edward J. “PaPa” Kalinowski, 92 of Hopewell Township went home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2018. The only child of John and Mary Kalinowski; Edward was born September 20, 1926 in Ambridge. He was joyfully reunited with his beloved wife Antoinette J. (Nalli) Kalinowski who preceded him in death June 25, 2012. Edward was part of the greatest generation. He was a veteran of World War II honorably serving our country in the US Navy. Edward was a faithful member of Our Lady of Fatima Church. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, served as an usher in church and was an integral part of the building committee for the church and school. In his earlier years Edward was a boy scout leader, he coached youth baseball for Hopewell Township and was a proud member of the “Herky Boys” social group of Ambridge and the Polish Falcons. Edward was an avid sports fan; if there was a game on tv he would be watching it. Edward retired from American Bridge after many years of service working as a cost estimator. He was the cherished father of Anthony Edward and Terri Kalinowski, St. Louis, MO., Sandra Jean Thomas, Chattanooga, TN and Trina Maria Chagnon, Hopewell Twp., three grandchildren of whom their PaPa was very proud: Nikki Lee Zimmerman, Nicholas Edward Chagnon and Victoria Antoinette Chagnon, and a great granddaughter, Alexa Lee Zimmerman. Edward is also survived by a brother-in-law: Everett Parrish, Hopewell Twp., numerous nieces, nephews and his beloved dog Kali. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 pm in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, PA 15001 724-375-0496. Departing prayers will begin at 9:45 am Wednesday in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Joachim Morgan. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Beaver County Special Unit will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
