Edith "Edie" DiStanislao, 92 of Aliquippa passed away December 11, 2015 with her family by her side.Born August 14, 1923 in Aliquippa she was the daughter of the late Carmen and Anna (Nero) D'Orazio. Edie was also preceded in death by her husband Ralph DiStanislao, a brother Tony and a sister Angela and a nephew Billy.Edie was a member of Saint Titus Roman Catholic Church and the Confraternity of Christian Mother's. She was a former member of the church choir and worked in the church hall for funeral luncheons. Edie found enjoyment working in her yard and crocheting special keepsakes for her family and friends. Her greatest treasure was her family. She delighted in making a weekly dinner for them with wonderful food especially her homemade ravioli's.Edie worked at the former Beaver Valley Geriatric Center and later provided home health care for those who needed help. She is survived by her devoted children: Theresa "Cookie" and Carl DiBenedetto and Ralph "Pooch" and Aimee DiStanilao. Four beloved grandchildren: Danielle DiBenedetto, Carla (Jeff) DiBenedetto-Rohena, Adriana DiStanislao, Chad DiStanislao and a great granddaughter: Francesa Rohena. Two special sisters: Bena Brooks and Mary Rossi, two sisters-in-law: Joy DiStanislao and Ann Carducci. Edie is also survived by her four nieces and a nephew: Mary Helen, Deanna, Frances, Suzie and Bobby along with numerous great nieces and great nephews, a dear lifelong friend Philomena Rossi and many loving members of the DiStanislao family.Visitation will be Monday 3-8 p.m. in the ANTHONY MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME INC. 2026 MCMINN STREET, Aliquippa 724-375-0496. Departing prayers will begin on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Titus Church with Father Paul Householder officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that donations be made, if desired, to St. Titus Church in memory of Edie.The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the wonderful caretakers who made it possible for Edie to stay in her home and to VITAS and Good Samaritan Hospice for their care and compassion that was extended to them.
