October 19, 1929 - November 17, 2016

Dorothy Jean Zugay, 87, of Center Twp., passed away on November 17, 2016.She was born on October 19, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Oren and Alice (Hamilton) Kenna.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Yako" Zugay; her beloved son, Joseph Paul Zugay, and a daughter-in-law, Noel S. Zugay.She is survived by a brother, Dennis Kenna, Las Vegas, Nev.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jack Zugay, Cleveland, Ohio, and Michael and Teresa Zugay, Center Twp.; five grandchildren, Maxwell J. Zugay, Jack M. Zugay, Jacklyn Zugay Porter, Michael Zugay and Travis Zugay, and several great-grandchildren.She was a member of Saint Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, Center Twp. Raised by her grandparents, she graduated Aliquippa High School in 1947. Dorothy retired from Mellon Bank in 1994 as a branch manager after a distinguished 30-year career.Remembered as a person who was kind, fun loving and always upbeat, she was respected and admired in the community. Hard working and dedicated, she took great pride in her professional career as well as raising her three sons. Exceptionally generous and insightful, she was also a strong and valuable ally to all of us who were privileged to know and love her. Throughout her life, she taught us the true meaning and benefits of compassion, thoughtfulness and never giving up. She always prioritized the importance of her family. Intelligent and strong-willed, she taught us the value of perseverance, integrity and the respect of others. We will always be grateful for her patience, insight and caring hand. A prideful mother, wife and valued friend, we'll never forget her loving guidance, her great energy and her wonderful sense of humor. In her later life she enjoyed assembling jigsaw puzzles. Our memories of her will undoubtedly comfort us in the days ahead. And for that, we are forever in her debt. May God rest her soul.Family and friends are being received on Monday, November 21, 2016, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the ANTHONY MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME INC., 2026 McMinn St., Aliquippa, 724-375-0496. Private interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
