Audrey Gayle (Mahon) Trasport Hopewell Township, 93, a life-long resident in the Aliquippa area, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Anaheim, Ca. Born on July 16, 1926 in Aliquippa, Pa. She was the daughter of the late William Delmer and Nina (Murphy) Mahon. Gayle (as she was mostly known by) attended Our Lady Fatima Parish and was a member of the Our Lady of Fatima Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She is best known by her family and all our friends for her traditional pasta dinners served every Sunday at 6:00 p.m. All knew they were welcome. She was also a master at creating specialty cakes for birthdays, graduations, and holidays. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Freddy Trasport, her two sisters, Jane Kanfush and Florence Morgan, one brother, William (Bill) Delmer Mahon, son-in-law Oswald Gonzalez, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Kraus) Trasport and grandson, Philip Vixman. Surviving are one sister, Nina (Deda) Pepper, Lehigh Acres, FL.; five beloved sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick Trasport and his wife Janice, Conway, SC.; John Trasport and his wife Linda, Merritt Island, FL.; Mark Trasport and his wife Jackie, Murrells Inlet, SC.; Richard Trasport and his love, Sharon, Rochester, PA.; David Trasport and his wife Rhoda, Aliquippa, PA. and her beloved daughter, Michele Trasport-Gonzalez, Anaheim CA.; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer, Katheryn (Mike), Sarah (Cody), John (Heather), Rachel, Joshua (Rachel), Jacob (Mary), Daniel, Adam (Crysta), Sammy (Roberta), Jason (Miranda), Natalie (Billy) and 14 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Gayle will be remembered fondly by her absolute dedication and devotion to her family. She always put everyone’s needs before her own and was a true example of love, kindness and generosity. Due to the current restrictions a private family viewing will take place at Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, 724-375-0496 on Friday followed by a private Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A memorial service, welcoming all to attend who were a part of Gayle’s life, will be announced later. In memory of Gayle, donations may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church or a charity of your choosing.
