With great sadness we say goodbye to a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. Arsenio “Archie” Montini, 74 of Center Township passed away Janaury 2, 2021 from complications of Covid-19 and pneumonia. He was born November 10, 1946 in Patrica, Italy to the late Quirino and Evelina (Simoni) Montini. Archie was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Montini, who passed away December 19, 2020, a niece, Fiorella Valle and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frank and Marie Gentile. He was a faithful member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Archie was an elementary teacher for Cornell School District from 1971 until his retirement in 2005. Archie was proud of his Italian heritage and had a special devotion to San Rocco, the patron saint of his hometown in Italy. He cherished the festivals that were held in Aliquippa and proudly carried the San Rocco statue in the procession for over 50 years. Archie also found enjoyment in bowling and fishing. He had a passion for cooking, gardening vegetables and flowers, especially roses. Archie was instrumental in assisting his son with his restaurant and was immensely proud of him. The greatest joy in Archie’s life was the family he was blessed with. He valued their family dinners, vacations together, and holidays. Archie is survived by his beloved wife: Mary Lou (Gentile) Montini, Two devoted sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Natalie Montini and Richard and Nicholette Montini. Four grandchildren whom he adored: Gia, Stephanie, Giada and Enzo. Two sisters: Marie Antoinette (Natalino) Valle and Flavia (Michael) Popovich. Three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Gloria (Frank) Bufalini, Donna Gentile, Fran (Alex) Sha- hen, and Frank Gentile, Jr. Archie was also loved by many nieces, nephews, numerous special friends who were like family including his friend and colleague, Anna Stauffer. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 am until departing prayers at 11:45 am in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa 15001 724-375-0496. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Frances Cabrini Church at 12:30. Archie will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Archie may be made to a charity of one’s choice or to the San Rocco Foundation to honor San Rocco in Patrica, Italy, or for new Robes for the statue carriers. Donations for San Rocco may be sent to ‘San Rocco Foundation’ 1304 Rambler Dr. Aliquippa, PA 15001. Please indicate “Robes” or “Patrica” on your donation.
