Anthony G. "Tony" D'Alfonso

October 9, 1926 - December 13, 2017

Anthony G. “Tony” D’Alfonso, 91 of Elmcroft Village, Chippewa formerly of Aliquippa passed away peacefully with his devoted daughters by his side December 13, 2017. He was born October 9, 1926 in Steubenville, Ohio and was the son of the late Nick and Jennie (Saverino) D’Alfonso. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Caroline (Ciotti) D’Alfonso and a brother, George D’Alfonso. He was a member of Saint Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, Center Twp. Tony was also a member of The MPI Club where he served as the financial secretary for many years. in his younger days he played the accordion with the musical group The Fashionaires. Tony was a veteran of the United States Air Corp. having served as a Tail Gunner in WWII. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier and from the Center Township Police Department where he worked as a part time officer for 28 years. Surviving Tony are two daughters and sons-in-law: Artie J. and James Anderson, Florida and Toni and Joey Pushinsky, Monaca. Five grandchildren: Nicole (Michael), Jon, Chad (Dana), Sean, Jamie (Manny). Tony is also survived by seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday from 3-7 p.m. in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa 724-375-0495 A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made the the Alzheimer’s Association, a local Veterans Organization or a charity of one’s choice in memory Tony.
