Anthony “Nick” Bernardi, 91, of Aliquippa passed away on May 27, 2021. He was born October 31, 1929 to the late Antonio and Evelyn (DiBenedetto) Bernardi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor (Palsa) Bernardi and his sister, Gloria Simonelli Nick was a faithful member of Our Lady of Fatima Church where he served as an usher for many years. He retired from J&L Steelworks having worked in the Tin MIll as a forklift operator. Nick was known as a handyman and was lovingly nicknamed “Mr. Fix It" by his family. He could remodel or repair anything and greatly enjoyed woodworking. Nick was devoted to his family and treasured their time together. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Nicholas and Veronica Bernardi. A daughter and son-in-law: Bernadette and Robert Thomas Sr. Four grandsons: Christopher Bernardi, Rob Thomas and Lauren McCurdy, Anthony (Chelsie) Thomas and Michael Mikula and three great-grandchildren: R.J., Anthony Jr., and Ella. Nick is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, special cousins and a devoted companion, Gina Balletti. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Cambridge Pointe and a very special thank you to Hospice 365 nurses, especially Barb and Jill, for the compassionate care given to Nick. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3-7 pm in the ANTHONY MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME INC. 2026 McMinn Street Aliquippa PA 15001 724-375-0496. Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 12 noon. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:30 pm in Our Lady of Fatima Church. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
