Kathleen Ann Marchionda

Kathleen A. Marchionda, 79 of Raccoon Township passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2023 at Heritage Valley Sewickley. She was born January 30, 1944, in Whitney, PA. Kathy was the only child of Dalton and Mary Ellen (Britt) Verner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Francis J. Marchionda, a beloved son William “Billy” N. Marchionda, her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frank and Anna Marchionda, four brothers-in-law: Joseph Marchionda, Robert Marchionda, Tom Boring and a sister Anita Marchionda Cassucio (Joseph Cassucio). Kathy grew up in Robinson Township and graduated from Montour High School class of 1962. Through the years she remained close with her classmates and recently participated in her 50 year class reunion. When Kathy was an infant, she was baptized in the catholic faith and several years ago, Kathy was fulfilled by completing her sacraments within the church. She was a member of Mary Queen of Saints Parish, St. Frances Cabrini Church, Center Twp. She retired from U.S. Airways after many years of service. After her retirement Kathy continued to work various jobs where she met many people. Kathy was a loving mother to her son, Michael (Kristee) Marchionda, and stepson, Dean Marchionda, her grandchildren: Brennan, Morgan, Reagan and Lily. She is also survived by five sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law: Nancy Marchionda, who was like a sister to Kathy, Linda Marchionda, Louis “Babe” and Jeannie Marchionda, Christy and Debby Marchionda, Virginia and Melvin Swogger. Kathy is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews who she loved like they were her own children, and they equally loved their “KK”. She also will be missed by numerous cousins, dear friends and her beloved dog, Hydro. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 pm in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, PA 15001. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Monday at 10:00 am in St. Frances Cabrini Church 115 Trinity Drive, Aliquippa, PA 15001. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Kathy was devoted to her family and friends. For those who loved Kathy, her life was too brief. The moments that were shared will be treasured within the hearts she touched. Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Kathy to the American Heart Association or The Beaver County Humane Society.
