Helen (Slappo) Patton

Helen (Slappo) Patton, 100, of Aliquippa peacefully passed away after a long, beautiful life on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. Mrs. Patton was born October 28, 1916 in Ambridge PA and was the daughter of the late Casper and Antoinette (Pollack) Slappo. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Phillip J. Patton, her siblings: Julie, Mary, Frank, John, Stanley and Walter. She was a member of St. Titus Roman Catholic Church, Aliquippa. Mrs. Patton was a member of the House of Prayer Knitting Group. She also served as the tour director, organizing bus trips and other events, at the Crescent Twp. Senior Citizens Group. Mrs. Patton enjoyed going to the casino and trying her luck at the slot machines. Above all her favorite pastime was being with her family whom she loved dearly. Mrs. Patton leaves behind her four children and their spouses to celebrate her life: David and Trudy Patton, Melbourne, Florida, Phillip and Diane Patton, Orange City, Florida, Tom and Margie Patton, Hopewell, and Maribeth and Harold Allinder, Hopewell. Eight cherished grandchildren and their spouses: Deanna Patton, David and Beth Patton, Phillip and Karen Patton, Rochelle Patton, T.J. Patton, Tony Patton, Brooke and Ross Nelson, Cassie and Ryan Bolland. Mrs. Patton was also blessed with five great grandchildren: Jackie, Tyler, Logan, Carson and Ava, a sister-in-law: Sophie Slappo and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the ANTHONY MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME INC. 2026 MCMINN STREET, Aliquippa 15001 724-375-0496. Departing prayers will begin on Friday in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.followed by a Mass of Christian burial at .10:00 a.m. in St. Titus Church with Father Howard Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Cemetery. The Patton Family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice for the kind and compassionate care that was given to their mother. In lieu of flowers donations may be made, if desired, to Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver in memory of Helen.
