Betty Ruth (Anderon) Corbin

Betty Ruth (Anderson) Corbin, 91 formerly of Aliquippa passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 14, 2023 She was born April 18, 1931, in Aliquippa and was the daughter of the late Garnett and Bertie Vesta (Todd) Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph Corbin, three grandchildren: Jacob Georgakis, Veronica and Brian Cogis, five sisters: Bertie Mary Anderson, Pauline Miller, Gladys Diamond, Pearl Cotter, Bertie Jane Samargia, two brothers: Wilburn Anderson and Clyde Warren Anderson. Betty was a very spiritual person and a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Center Twp. She taught Sunbemas school for 18 years and was active in the relief society with the Mormon Church. Betty was always a gracious hostess. She welcomed church missionaries who experienced her kindness by sharing wonderful conversation and a meal. Betty and her husband always extended their love to all they knew whether they were family or not. Above all, Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was the cornerstone of her family. She cherished her time with each of them especially when they gathered at her home for dinners or attended family reunions with extended family from the South where she was raised. Betty also was a talented writer of poetry and has many poems for her family to treasure. One of her poems will be used on her memorial cards for all to treasure. Surviving Betty are her loving children: Linda Corbin Miller, Betty Jo and John Cogis, whom Betty lived with, Joseph Leonard and Kim (Barker) Corbin and Michelle “Mickey” and Frank Georgakis. Her grandchildren who brought her much joy: Jason (Katie) Miller, Renee (Marlin) Thomas, Ernie Jr. (Mary) Miller, Sean (Kristin) Cogis, Jessica Cogis, Joseph Corbin, Jr. Jeanne (Chad) Young, Jillian (Ben) Zorn, Joseph (Rachael) Georgakis, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her sister: Martha Jean Seymore, two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Mary Anderson, Donna and Roger Thompson, numerous nieces and nephews and a dear friend Helen Cogis. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-7 pm in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc, 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, PA 15001. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 am until time of service at 11:00 am in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Center Twp. Betty will be laid to rest with her husband at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
