Anna Mae (Lalama) Becker

Anna Mae (Lalama) Becker, 87 of Center Township passed away surrounded by her loving children on December 5, 2022. She was born September 15, 1935, in West Aliquippa and was the daughter of the late Nofrey J. Lalama, Sr. and Anna (Konvalinka) Lalama. In addition to her parents, Anna Mae was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Edwin Becker, Sr. who she married August 8, 1956. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters-in-law: Nofrey and Jenny Lalama, Jr., Anthony and Betty Lalama, Ralph and Judy Lalama, an infant sister Raffaela, and two grandchildren: Jana Perich and Thomas Bowser, Jr. Anna Mae was a devoted member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, Mary Queen of Saints Parish. In 1991, she became the founding member of St. Frances Cabrini Church 50 plus club and was the first president. She was still an active member of the organization she held so dear. Anna Mae was also a CCD teacher at church. When her children were younger Anna Mae served as president, for many years, of Center HS Band Parents. Anna Mae loved to cook and feed people. She knew what everyone's favorite dish was and enthusiastically made it. If someone were not able to pick up the food from her house, she graciously would deliver the meal to them. Anna Mae worked as an LPN at the former Beaver Valley Geriatric Center. Upon retirement she babysat her grandchildren. Then later worked as a cook for banquets and fundraisers at Center Stage. She loved the casino and would organize bus trips for her friends. Anna Mae loved TV game shows and traveling. Her biggest thrill was when she was selected from the audience of the Price Is Right, to play a game and share the stage with her idol, Bob Barker. Anna Mae is survived by the family she cherished: Jeanne (Thomas) Bowser, Victoria Becker (Adrian Butter), Edwin, Jr (Anne) Becker, Bernadette (John, Sr) Girata. Grandchildren: Janine (Matthew) Sneed, Jacquelynn Scabora, John Girata, Jr, Michael (Rachel) Girata, Christine Girata, Sherry (Bill) Cottage and Jocelyn Bowser. Great Grandchildren: Jaxon & Maddox Sneed, Jionna Scabora, Jiovanni Pennington, Miles Girata, Bill (Malory) Cottage, Brandy (Thomas) Brown, Addilyn Bowser and two Great Great grandchildren: Bill Cottage III, Ophelia Cottage. Two brothers and sisters-in-law: Jack (Bonnie) Lalama, Frank (Jenny) Lalama, and a special niece, JoAnn DeSantis Barnes. Anna Mae was also blessed with many additional loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Anna Mae’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to their Aunt Jenny Lalama for the care and compassion that was extended to their mom during her illness and the final days of her life. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 pm in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, PA 15001 724-375-0496. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Friday in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 10:00 am. Anna Mae will be buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with her husband. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to St. Frances Cabrini 50 plus Club in memory of Anna Mae.
